Studies on the Basal Metabolism of Korean military persons (Report Ⅰ)

Abstract
|

|
This study is based on the determination of the energy of metabolism under standard condition, exercised to normal 154 men selected from more than 300 individuals with age differing from 18 to 22 years.
It was carried in July and August 1955. The result are given in table 1?6.
The average basal metabolic rate per hour per square meter of the 19 years; 20?21 years and 22?23 years were 42.18; 42.09, and 40.91 Calories respectively.
The result of those pilots (12 men) of the same ages between 19-20 years, cadets(19-men), air men (20 men) and recruits (23 men) were 41.41, 42.20, 42.59, and 41.65 Calories.
The total average basal metabolic rate of all, subjects was 41.69 Calories per square meter per hour.
The results of this study shows that more than 92% of´ this subjects described herein were within the range of 15% frequency distribution of the deviation of the individual rate from the average.
